ERC - 2013 | Round 9 - Rally Poland

The 70 th Rally Poland is one of the rally that was eagerly looked upon, being the former F1 star Robert Kubica 's homeland and also because of his outing in the event with the Citroen DS3 RRC rally car. But in the pre-event testing, Kubica crashed heavily and left the car looking beyond repair. But the Polish was determined and with a huge task in hand, the race engineers fixed the devastated DS3 back into a shiny piece of a rally car. Job well done ! And it seemed that it wasn't enough to plague the event, then a heavy downpour on Wednesday night and Thursday morning, left many sections of stages with slushy stages, and beyond immediate repair. Soon the organisers of LOTOS 70 Rally Poland to made a few modifications to the event itinerary. On Saturday 14 September, special stage one and four, Tałty, is cut from 14.54 kilometres to 6.15 kilometres. Baranowo, which forms stages two and five of the gravel rally, is trimmed from 17.51 kilometres to 12.11 kilom...

ERC - 2013 | Round 6 - Geko Ypres Rally, Belgium

Geko Ypres Rally, is the sixth round in the European Rally Championship, 2013 . The historic city of Belgium woke up to the rumble of the rally cars at the service park, and its countryside. The narrow and fast asphalt roads, with corners at tricky places and lined by the deep and grassy drains, makes no room for surprise moves. Not just that, the drains have hidden concrete culverts at places, if upon a slightest moment, can rip-off a wheel or smash any part of the car - with no remorse. The rally is not new to the championship, nor to the competitors. Local talents from here have made it to the top level rallying, for example; Thierry Neuville . However, it will be Freddy Loix , the local star who has won the event 7 times earlier and will be one to watch. Practice & Qualifying was held on Thursday , and as expected Freddy Loix went the fastest and chose to start first on Day 1, while Craig Breen was second fastest will start on #2 position, and Bryan Bouffier was ...

ERC - 2013 | Round 3 - Rally Islas Canarias El Corte Inglés

Located 100 kilometres off the coast of Morocco , Gran Canaria hosts Rally Islas Canarias for a 37th time in 2013. With the stages frequently climbing and descending, drivers pay close attention to the speed and line they take for each corner to maintain optimal momentum. One of the notable features of the stages is the abrasive surface, which is partly constructed from volcanic lava. It means grip levels and tyre wear are high as a result. However, because there is little opportunity to take ‘cuts’ through corners, the road surface remains relatively clean and consistent and puncture risk is reduced. Below is the former Formula 1 driver  Robert Kubica 's crash, the one who was most closely watched by his fans. Here is the TV broadcast of the complete event.

ERC - 2013 | Round 2 - Rally Liepāja-Ventspils, Latvia

At the end of the opening leg of the rally, Craig Breen leads the rally by a little over 6s to Finnish Jari Ketomaa , and Francois Delecour another 6s further in third overall. Jari Ketomaa was the fastest through the qualification stage this morning and Craig Breen all the way down at 6th and the turn around was a bit of a surprise for the top field, but the Irish got the talent. Delecour 's third is something extraordinary, as he had to drive through SS3 by holding the door closed which had latching/locking issues. Day 1, top 5 result. 1 | C.Breen / D.Moynihan       | 22:15.4 Peugeot 207 (2) 2 | J.Ketomaa / K.Lindström   | 22:21.8 | +6.4 Ford Fiesta RRC (2) 3 | F.Delecour / D.Savignoni   | 22:27.5 | +12.1 Peugeot 207 (2) 4 | A.Lukyanuk / A.Arnautov  | 22:48.1 | +32.7 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X (3) 5 | V.Švedas / Ž.Sakalauskas  | 23:06.2 | +50.8 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X (3) _ ______ _____...
