ERC - 2013 | Round 5 - Tour de Corse, France

Tour de Corse, is the French version for 'Rally of 10000 Corners', because to its high frequency of twists and turns. The 56th running of the legendary event went on to make it one of the most anticipated event in ERC. The winding tarmac roads on the edge of the mountain and also frequently facing the sea makes it one of the most challenging event to compete.

In the history, this event has claimed a few competitors, like Attilio Bettega, who died during the fourth special stage of the 1985 rally, driving a Lancia Rally 037, Zérubia-Santa Giulia. The biggest was in 1986, exactly a year later, when Henri Toivonen and his co-driver Sergio Cresto died in their Lancia Delta S4 during the 18th stage of the event, at Corte-Taverna.

Coming back to this year's rally, below here is the video highlights of Day 1.

With a thrilling battle for the finale, Kornel Lukacs wins the ERC 2WD Championship on his Tour de Corse debut and Molly Taylor wins the ERC Ladies' Trophy for the first time.

Jan Kopecky struggled to the finish with time of 18m06.6s in the final stage. "We went onto three cylinders, I don't know what happened", said the worried Czech. However, Jan finished in second and still tops on the championship table. Bryan Bouffier charges through in 17m39.8s to win Tour de Corse for the first time. It's also his first ERC win of 2013. "It's fantastic to win in France and a great result for my career."

Daniel Oliveira went off the road in his Brazil World Rally Team Fiesta. He was set for a ninth-place finish. Craig Breen's 17m47.4s wasn't good enough for the third place. "It's fantastic, we've shown extremely good speed and I've got a brief to finish rallies. I'm very happy", said the young Irishman.

ERC - 2013 | Round 3 - Rally Islas Canarias El Corte Inglés

Located 100 kilometres off the coast of Morocco , Gran Canaria hosts Rally Islas Canarias for a 37th time in 2013. With the stages frequently climbing and descending, drivers pay close attention to the speed and line they take for each corner to maintain optimal momentum. One of the notable features of the stages is the abrasive surface, which is partly constructed from volcanic lava. It means grip levels and tyre wear are high as a result. However, because there is little opportunity to take ‘cuts’ through corners, the road surface remains relatively clean and consistent and puncture risk is reduced. Below is the former Formula 1 driver  Robert Kubica 's crash, the one who was most closely watched by his fans. Here is the TV broadcast of the complete event.

Season - 2013 | A Dawn of a New ERA!

In the history of Rally series, European Rally Championship  is one major and popular series, which dates back to early 1950's, when the sport was still evolving. With the merger of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge series into the series which has rich history, the glamour of the former series makes it a real treat for everyone involved, actively or passively. FIA brought in the change with the merger to get the costs under control and keep the integrity of the sport as well as to reduce the confusion among both different, yet which were sharing the geographical & competition in each of them. Season 2013 - being the 61st edition of the series, is going to kick start just on the fourth day of the new year, which just adds for the cheering revelry to the fans & friends alike. The series was normally a spread over 11 rallies in the previous season, but it is going to be a 13 rally series from this year to accommodate the IRC pattern. Starting from  Internationale
